On August 4, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmed Gurbanov and Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Alemu Sime Feisa.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, and also considered issues of interaction on transport issues.

The Ethiopian side noted the significance of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Chairman of the Democratic Party A. Serdarov to Addis Ababa at the beginning of the year.

The importance of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries for promoting regional and international cooperation was noted.

The meeting emphasized the interest of Turkmenistan and Ethiopia in promoting bilateral relations, in particular in the areas of transport, ecology, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The Ethiopian side intends to participate in Turkmenistan’s initiatives for the benefit of peace and sustainable development.

In this context, the importance of the International Forum on Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan in December of this year, was noted.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for organizing the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and for its hospitality.
