Turkmenistan has launched Central Asia’s first research center for Olympic athlete training at the State Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

The new center is equipped with equipment similar to that used in leading sports schools in Germany, Japan, and the United States. Among the equipment are the BOD POD and Cosmed systems used at the Salt Lake City and Tokyo Olympic Centers, the SpeedCourt system for assessing speed and reaction time, and Höhenbalance technology, which simulates high-altitude conditions.

The center is run in collaboration with the institute’s specialized departments: students receive practical training and participate in real-world research in sports medicine and biomechanics. The project aims to strengthen the scientific foundation for training national teams and developing sports professionals.
