A painting by Pablo Picasso sold at auction in Paris for €32 million. Titled “Portrait of a Woman with a Floral Hat,” it depicted Picasso’s muse, the French artist and photographer Dora Maar. The painting was painted in 1943. A French family anonymously acquired it in 1944 and kept it in a private collection for over 80 years. According to the auction house, the painting has not been seen in color since then, and was known only through surviving old photographs from Picasso’s studio. The identity of the new owner has not been disclosed.
