FIFA referee Timur Ramazanov from Turkmenistan refereed the quarterfinal match of the Asian Futsal Cup, held in Indonesia, between the national teams of Japan and Afghanistan. The Turkmen referee worked alongside Iranian referee Ibrahim Mehrabiafshar.
It is worth noting that the referee of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan previously officiated the group stage match between the national teams of Japan and Australia, and served as the third official in the match between the teams of Iraq and the Republic of Korea.
In the quarterfinal matches, Japan defeated Afghanistan 6-0, Iraq defeated Thailand 4-2, Indonesia beat Vietnam 3-2, and Iran defeated Uzbekistan 7-4.
The 18th AFC Futsal Asian Cup will run until February 7. Notably, this is the second time Indonesia has hosted the final stage of this continental tournament.
