Martin Sajdik, a representative of the Austrian Institute for European Diplomacy and Security Policy, paid a working visit to Ashgabat.
On his first day, the guest visited the State Museum of the State Cultural Center, the National Carpet Museum, the Köne Nusaý Historical and Cultural Center, and the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Center. Sajdik focused on meetings with faculty and students of the university.
The lecture and subsequent question-and-answer session were held in English. The students inquired about the practicalities of diplomacy, the complexities of the profession, and the intricacies of a diplomat’s work.
Following this, the diplomat met with staff of the Institute’s Scientific Center for Strategic Studies, where he discussed current international policy issues. Sajdik noted that objectivity, impartiality, empathy, and patience are particularly important for successful diplomatic work.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further cooperation between the Austrian Institute and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
