A practical seminar, organized by the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), was held at the Bagtyýar nesil Children’s Health Center in Dashoguz.

Staff and volunteers attended the seminar from all regional branches of the NRCST, as well as international partners, including a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The main goal of the event was to improve coordination in emergencies and practice first aid and humanitarian support skills in affected regions. The seminar examined the principles of operational assistance and recovery, such as impartiality, humanity, and universality, which underlie the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

Particular attention was paid to the development of the NRCST volunteer movement, within which up to five thousand volunteers actively participate in humanitarian projects across the country. This seminar was an important step in ensuring emergency preparedness, which is fully in line with the priorities of the state program “Saglyk.”
