A student from Turkmenistan, Lale Rzagulyeva, demonstrated outstanding knowledge, taking first place in the 17th International Student Olympiad in Russian, “ЯРус”.
The prestigious intellectual competition was organized by Russia’s Siberian Federal University and attracted participants from around the world.
Lale is a fourth-year student majoring in Russian Language and Literature at Magtymguly Turkmen State University. As part of the Olympiad’s online format, she successfully completed a series of challenging tests designed for international students.
The competition program included tasks on vocabulary, grammar, and phonetics, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of language proficiency. Participants were required to demonstrate not only theoretical knowledge but also analytical thinking, creativity, and the ability to work with modern digital tools, including artificial intelligence technologies.
Following the competition, the jury highly praised the Turkmen student’s preparation. Lale Rzagulyeva was among seven participants awarded first-place diplomas across all competition categories.
Another achievement for Turkmenistan was the performance of Dildora Bakhtiyorova, who took second place in the international student category. She is currently studying at South Ural State University.
This year, the “ЯРус” Olympiad brought together hundreds of students: over 300 participants from Russian educational institutions and approximately 160 international students representing 31 countries. Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and China were the most actively represented.
The success of the Turkmen students is a clear confirmation of the high level of humanities education in the country and the interest of young people in studying Russian on the international stage.
