The OPEN ASIAN CUP international martial arts tournament, which took place on November 15, and brought together the strongest young athletes from the Asian region, concluded in Pattaya, Thailand. This was reported by the country’s International Information Center.
The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation and fierce competition in the fight for medals.
A special achievement for Turkmenistan was the performance of Amangeldi Garabegov. The young representative confidently completed all bouts in the hand-to-hand combat category for athletes aged 12–13 (up to 45 kg) and managed to win the gold medal.
This victory was the third in his career at a major continental competition, earning Garabegov the title of three-time Asian Champion. His success confirms the rapid development of young Turkmen athletes and strengthens Turkmenistan’s position on the international sports stage.
