The Turkmenistan U23 football team won a big victory over Chinese Taipei in the first match of the 2026 Asian Cup qualifying round in Amman, Jordan. The match ended with a score of 5:1. The youth team of our national team in the 19th (Dayanch Meredov) and 32nd minutes (Sokhbet Durdyev) scored the first goals. Then the youth of Chinese Taipei managed to reduce the gap to 1 goal, scoring 1 goal in the 40th minute (Wei Chin Chuan).
In the 43rd minute, Dayanch Meredov again increased the advantage of our youth team (3:1). Thus, the first half of the game ended with a score of 3:1. At the beginning of the second half, in the 48th minute, Dayanch Meredov again increased the advantage (4:1). The last, fifth goal of the match was scored by Abdyrakhman Annamuradov in the 90+2nd minute. As a result, Dayanch Meredov’s hat-trick brought the youth team of Turkmenistan U23 3 points in the first match of the qualifying tournament of the 2026 Asian Cup.
The Turkmenistan U23 team will play its next match on September 6 against the Bhutan U23 team.
