A large-scale celebratory program will be held in Ashgabat from February 16 to 22 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. The event will be organized by the Oguzkhan Türkmenfilm Association, which has made a significant contribution to the development of national art.
Throughout the week, residents and visitors to the capital will enjoy a rich cultural program, including thematic conferences, creative meetings, concerts, and special screenings of feature films and documentaries produced during the years of independence. Particular attention will be paid to films reflecting Turkmenistan’s historical heritage, spiritual values, and contemporary development.
The main events will take place at Ashgabat’s largest cultural venues: the Ashgabat Cinema, the Turkmenistan and Watan Cinema and Concert Centers, and the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. Each venue will become a space for dialogue between generations, the showcase of creative achievements, and the strengthening of national unity.
The celebratory week aims not only to mark a significant date in the country’s history but also to highlight the role of cinema as an essential tool for preserving cultural memory and shaping national identity.
