The match in Ashgabat between Akhal and the Merv football teams started the 6th round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship among the Major League clubs.
The game took place at the Kopetdag stadium.
Already in the opening game, the Merv team remained in the minority due to the removal of Dovletmukhamed Dzhallatov in the 10th minute for two yellow cards. Despite the numerical majority, Akhal was unable to print the opponent’s goal for a long time. As a result, the teams went to the break with zeros on the scoreboard.
In the second half, Velsakhet Ovezov’s team increased their momentum, and the goals were not long in coming. First, Dayanch Meredov scored in the 50th minute. 8 minutes later, Ibrahim Amangeldiyev doubled the lead. And in the 66th minute, Nazar Tovakelov scored the third goal against Merv.
Having won 3-0, Akhal’s players topped the standings with 12 points. And Merv, having suffered its third defeat, remained in 7th place with 4 points.
In the next round, Merv will host Altyn Asyr on April 19. And Akhal will play with Ashgabat on the same day.
