As part of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, the Aktau City Culture Days opened in Balkanabat, according to the country’s International Information Center.
This event commemorates the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and aims to develop international cooperation in the arts.
The Aktau delegation was greeted in Turkmenistan with warmth and respect, along with traditional bread and salt. The official ceremony took place at the Saparmurat Turkmenbashi the Great State Drama Theater, where the cultural days were officially opened.
Guests were treated to a unique exhibition of fine arts and arts and crafts, as well as books on Turkmenistan’s national cuisine. The evening continued with a large-scale concert featuring works symbolizing the unity of peoples.
The opening program began with the composition “Shashu,” followed by the famous works “Adai” and “Jailau.” Vibrant national dances of Turkmens, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, and Azerbaijanis performed by the Aktau Sazy and Mynara ensembles became a vibrant symbol of intercultural brotherhood.
The creative exchange continued with theatrical performances dedicated to the great Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fragi and the Kazakh sage Abay Kunanbayev. The sounds of the dutar and dombra added to the atmosphere of national harmony.
The audience’s attention was particularly drawn to scenes from the Alpamys epic and musical compositions such as “Kyzdaray” by Sabit Shektibayev and “Kazaktai el kayda” by Jasulan Talasbayev and other performers.
Kazakhstani artists such as Salamat Auezov, Guldzhanar Rafkhatkyzy, and Aida Baigelova, as well as Turkmen artists including Altyn Goshayeva and Dovlet Gurbanov performed Songs about the friendship of peoples.
The evening concluded with a joint performance of the Turkmen national dance, kushtdepdi, uniting artists from both countries, symbolizing the enduring friendship and unity of the two peoples.
