On March 10, a concert by the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Zhalilov was held at the Makhtumkuli National Music and Drama Theater in Ashgabat. This was a good gift for International Women’s Day was prepared by the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan together with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. The concert was held to a full house on the stage of the Makhtumkuli National Music and Drama Theater, accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Rasul Klichev.
The Russian singer opened the concert with a number – “Orlovsky’s Toast” from the operetta “The Bat” by Johann Strauss. The velvety baritone voice with a wide range of shades immediately charmed the listeners. A medley of classical romances based on the poems of Alexander Pushkin, pop hits of previous years and foreign hits, that spoke about love for women, were performed from the stage.
Pop singer Maisa Niyazova performs the song “Dove” by Sebastian de Iradier in a duet with Albert Zhalilov. The concert program included the Turkmen songs “Charming Eyes” by Andrei Babayev and “My Ashgabat” by Rejep Gutliyev, as well as the Tatar folk song “Nightingale”. The audience also joined in with the singer’s song “Katarina”. Due to Albert Zhalilov’s charm and talent, the evening was successfull.
