The Altyn Asyr team, continuing its run in the AFC Challenge League group stage, secured its second consecutive victory. In the second round match of Group A, the capital team defeated the home team, Paro, 3-1. Altyn Asyr’s victory was secured by goals from Rakhman Muratberdyev (9th minute, 37th minute) and Resul Rovshenmuradov (73rd minute).
As a reminder, Altyn Asyr also secured a victory in the first round, defeating Abdysh-Ata from Kyrgyzstan 1-0. Thus, with six points after two rounds, the capital team remains firmly in the lead of the Group A standings.
The Omani club Al-Shabab, which defeated the Kyrgyz Abdysh-Ata with a score of 2:1 in this round, also has six points.
The final matches of Group A’s third round, hosted by Bhutan, will take place on October 31. On that day, Altyn Asyr will face Al-Shabab in the central match of the round, while Abdysh-Ata will play Paro.
The AFC Challenge League is divided into Western and Eastern zones. Eight teams will advance to the quarterfinals following the group stage: the three group winners and one best runner-up from the Western zone, and the top two teams from each group in the Eastern zone.
The playoff stage will be held in a knockout format with traveling matches.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for March 2026, the semi-finals for April, and the final match on May 9.
