The S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University has announced an ecology Olympiad for 11th-12th-grade students from secondary schools across the country.
Up to five students with high scores in the subject may participate from each province (city). Applications are accepted until March 1 by email to tm.tau.2022@gmail.com. A list of participants and their supervisors must be sent.
The Olympiad will be held in two stages, with individual competitions in both Turkmen and Russian. The first stage will take place on March 4 at 10:00 online on the digital educational portal of the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University.
For students from Ashgabat, the city of Arkadag, and the Ahal province, the first stage will be held at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University. Participants from the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University (Turkmenistan), Mary province students will be held at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, Lebap province students will be held at the S. Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, Dashoguz province students will be held at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, and Balkan province students will be held at the Main Education Department of the Balkan province.
Participants will be given tests and problems on the school curriculum in ecology. They will have 90 minutes to complete them.
Students with the highest scores will advance to the second stage, which will be held in person on March 26 at the S.A.Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University.
During the second stage, participants will present research projects within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the areas of food security and environmental protection. Presentations should last no more than five minutes. The use of visual aids is permitted.
Projects will be evaluated on a 100-point scale based on relevance, scientific approach, clarity of presentation, accuracy of information, practical applicability, and conciseness of presentation. The jury will include scientists, faculty, and specialists from S.A. Niyazov TAU, other universities, and secondary schools across the country.
Winners will be awarded first-, second-, and third-degree diplomas and commemorative gifts.
