The 20th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) will be held in Samarkand on November 24.
It will run until December 5 and bring together representatives of states, international organizations, the scientific community, and conservation groups from around the world.
Over the course of two weeks, participants will discuss a wide range of issues, from general strategic and financial matters to specific steps to regulate trade in species officially listed by CITES.
Key topics include improving the Convention’s enforcement mechanisms, combating illegal wildlife trade, sustainable use of natural resources, and new scientific data influencing the status of species.
