Turkmenistan has announced the Interstate Television Film Competition of the CIS countries, “Flight of the Racehorse: Strength and Grace,” dedicated to the role of the horse in the history and culture of the region’s peoples. This was reported by the country’s International Information Center.
The competition theme is directly related to the Akhal-Teke horse breed.
The Akhal-Teke horse occupies a special place in the history, culture, and national symbols of Turkmenistan, embodying the independence and dignity of the people. In 2026, this theme was also reflected in the country’s official motto. The development of horse breeding remains a priority of state policy.
The competition is aimed at authors from CIS countries, which is in line with Turkmenistan’s year of chairmanship of the Commonwealth and its commitment to developing humanitarian and cultural ties. Television companies and independent filmmakers of any age are invited to participate. Films ranging from 15 to 30 minutes in length are accepted in any language with Russian or English subtitles. Films dedicated to the history of horse breeds, their cultural significance, and the development of equestrian sports are eligible.
