«Arkadag» football players reached the semi-finals of the AFC Challenge League, having won the Indian «East Bengal» in the quarter-finals.
On March 12th, “Arkadag” hosted the second leg of the AFC Challenge League quarter-finals against India’s “East Bengal” and showcased a high level of play. Despite facing a leading team from the Indian Football Championship, which has recently become a destination for prominent international footballers, “Arkadag” performed effectively in all aspects of the game. From the opening minutes at the Arkadag stadium, “Arkadag” played an attacking style, defeating their opponent 2-0 and advancing to the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament. Altymyrat Annadurdyyev scored both goals (89th minute, penalty; 90+8 minutes). East Bengal’s goal was scored by Messi Bouli in the 2nd minute.
“Arkadag” also secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg played in India.
It is worth noting that “Arkadag” also confidently progressed through the group stage of the tournament. Competing in Group B, the team performed strongly in matches against “Maziya Sports” of the Maldives, “Abdysh-Ata” of the Kyrgyz Republic, and “Al-Arabi” of Kuwait.
“Arkadag’s” semi-final opponent will be the winner of the match between “Al-Arabi” (Kuwait) and “Al-Sib” (Oman). The AFC Challenge League semi-finals are scheduled to be held on April 9th and 16th.
