On June 13, at the government meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Orazdurdyeva reported on preparations for the international chess tournament to be held in the capital.
It was noted that the international competitions scheduled for June 15-19 will be an important event of the International Year of Peace and Trust. They will be attended by athletes aged 8, 10 and 12 from many foreign countries as well as from Turkmenistan.
In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted a corresponding proposal to the head of state for consideration.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that effective work is being carried out to further enhance the sports prestige of our country in the international arena, develop Turkmen sports, and that international competitions of various levels are regularly held. In this regard, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to properly prepare for holding an international chess tournament at a high level at the Ashgabat Specialized Chess and Checkers School.
