Today, on March 27, EU High Representative/Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, began her official visit to Central Asia in Ashgabat.
She started with a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to discuss EU-Turkmenistan cooperation.
Later, she chaired the 20th anniversary EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting, hosted by Turkmenistan, focusing on strengthening regional partnerships.
On the sidelines of the meeting, HR/VP Kallas also held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, as well as Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, to discuss key regional issues.
During the second part of the day, HR/VP of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas answered journalists’ interested questions.
