On March 17th, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiev, and the Malaysian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Mohd Suhaimi bin Ahmad Tadjuddin, convened to explore enhanced educational collaboration between their nations.
Their discussions centered on advancing higher education and vocational training, broadening educational access for young people, and reinforcing existing cooperative agreements. The aim was to facilitate knowledge exchange and implement joint educational programs.
The successful presence of Petronas in Turkmenistan was cited as a prime example of effective educational partnership. It was noted that the Petronas University of Technology offers excellent educational opportunities to Turkmen students.
Building on this foundation, both parties proposed new avenues for collaboration between their educational institutions and discussed the implementation of joint projects. They also addressed the potential participation of Malaysian university students in international Olympiads hosted in Turkmenistan, specifically inviting Malaysian schoolchildren to the upcoming International Mathematical Olympiad in Ashgabat.
Furthermore, sides reviewed plans to execute agreements signed in the preceding year, aimed at strengthening their bilateral educational partnership.
The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan requested that the Malaysian government consider providing scholarships for Turkmen students, emphasizing that this initiative would significantly bolster educational ties.
The Malaysian Ambassador, in response, suggested expanding cooperation in secondary vocational education, highlighting substantial potential for growth in educational relations between the two countries.
Concluding the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening educational collaboration and pledged to work together on new educational projects and initiatives.
