President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on holding the Week of Culture in the Balkan velayat from June 22 to 27, 2026.
The event is aimed at developing national culture, enriching national art and literature with new works, and enhancing the professionalism of creative figures. The Week of Culture is traditionally dedicated to the Day of Cultural and Art Workers, as well as the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi.
According to the document, an organizing committee for the event has been formed and its composition has been approved. The Week of Culture is also intended to stimulate creative figures to create new works and improve the work of the media.
Similar cultural weeks are regularly held in various velayats of Turkmenistan as part of the state policy on the development of national culture and art.
