Barcelona have once again won the Spanish Super Cup. In the final of the competition held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, Barcelona defeated their old rivals Real Madrid 3-2 in El Clasico. The final moments of the first half of the tense match were especially memorable. In the 36th minute, Brazilian star Rafinha put Barcelona ahead. In the 45+2 minute, another Brazilian star player, Vinicius Junior, scored a beautiful goal to equalize the score. Although the Catalans took the lead again with a goal from Lewandowski in the 45+4 minute, Real Madrid’s young player Gonzalo Garcia equalized 2 minutes later.
After the break, the teams continued to attack. In the 73rd minute of the match, Rafinha scored his second goal of the match, putting his team ahead once again. The Madrid team was unable to respond to this goal. Thus, with a 3-2 victory, Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup for the second time in a row and for the 16th time in total. Real Madrid, who lost to their old rivals 5-2 last year and 3-2 this year, has 13 Super Cups.
