The rock paintings of the Bashkir cave Shulgan-Tash (Bash. Shulgantash) have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the organization reported on social media.
“The rock paintings in the Shulgan-Tash cave in the Russian Federation have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List,” the statement said.
It is noted that the decision was made at the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris.
The Shulgan-Tash cave is the largest multi-story karst cave in the Southern Urals. Rock paintings of prehistoric man were discovered in it, which were made approximately 15-19 thousand years ago.
