A Boot Camp for Central Asian NGOs focusing on Project Management Cycle training will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from May 26 to 30, 2025. The thematic component of this 5-day training is: Improvement of Cross-Border Cooperation.
Background:
The BOMCA 10 Boot Camp, funded by the European Union, aims to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs/NGOs) in Central Asia. The program will equip NGOs with the necessary tools to effectively design and implement projects that benefit vulnerable populations in the region. This 5-day intensive training will guide participants through the entire project cycle, from formulating successful strategies for project awards to execution and evaluation.
The goal of the Boot Camp is to empower civil society in Central Asia, enabling organizations, especially those working in Central Asian border regions, to create a tangible impact on local communities. By the end of the Boot Camp, participants will have developed viable project ideas that they can implement.
Eligibility Criteria:
The organization invite applications from NGOs in Central Asia working in areas that align with the objectives of the Boot Camp. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Geographical Scope: The applicant organization must be based in one of the following Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan, and operate in the border regions of their respective countries.
2. Target Group Focus: The organization must be focused on working with vulnerable groups within the local population.
3. Project Relevance: The organization should demonstrate an interest in developing new project ideas or enhancing existing ones to create positive change in the local community.
4. Experience and Capacity: The organization should have some experience in managing and implementing projects but would benefit from enhanced skills in project design, strategy development, and evaluation.
5. Commitment: The organization must commit to attending the full 5-day Boot Camp and participating in all activities and workshops.
6. Fluency in English or Russian: As the training will be conducted in both English and Russian, participants must be proficient in at least one of these languages.
Application Process:
Interested organizations should submit the following documents in English or Russian via email to BOMCA10grants@icmpd.org:
1. A completed application form (attached).
2. A CV, including the contact details of the person applying on behalf of the organization.
Deadline for Applications:
All applications must be submitted by April 4, 2025.
Selection Process:
Applicants will be selected based on the eligibility criteria, the relevance of their proposed project idea, and their potential to benefit from the Boot Camp. One organization can submit a maximum of two applications. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously participated in BOMCA capacity-building activities for civil society organizations. A maximum of one participant per organization will be selected.
