From July 7 to August 4, in Almaty, English teachers from national higher and secondary educational institutions, along with colleagues from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, are taking part in a regional English language training within the framework of the United States of America program “C5+ ONE” (Opening Networks through English). 27 teachers represented the Turkmen delegation, as reported education.gov.tm
The C5+ONE program is a regional English language training program designed for employees of educational institutions, government agencies, civil organizations and the private sector from Central Asian countries. The program is specifically designed for professionals working in these priority areas and helps to increase their capacity to participate in regional and international activities. The core idea behind the program is that improving English language skills does not only enhance individuals’ career prospects, but also enables them to build ‘open networks’, fostering stronger regional cooperation and deeper integration with the global community.
The key objectives and activities of the C5+ONE program are to improve English language proficiency; provide intensive, practical English language training tailored to the professional environment; strengthen professional networks; promote global engagement; and develop personal potential. The program includes intensive English language courses; national and regional workshops; webinars and online interactions; field trips and professional development events; mentoring and alumni engagement. The C5+ONE program also plays a key role in human capital development; regional integration, strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties with native English speakers, and plays a vital role in equipping its professionals with tools and networks they need to thrive and contribute to a more connected and prosperous future.
The program consists of three interconnected stages:
• Online courses – from May 13 to June 9, 2025 (20 hours).
• Intensive face-to-face training seminar in Almaty, lasting one month – from July 8 to August 3, 2025 (146 hours).
• Networking, collaboration and professional development activities – from September 2025 to May 2026 (80 hours).
The program provides modern methods of teaching English, as well as practical and master classes. Attendees also exchange experiences and share their knowledge on the best practices of teaching English, as well as a high level of teaching schoolchildren and students based on the latest achievements of innovative technologies. Upon completion of the visit, Turkmen specialists, having improved their language skills, will expand professional ties, exchange experiences and establish cooperation and introduce best practices into the national methodology of teaching English.
