The International Day of Nowruz was celebrated on March 22, in Abanotubani, the historical heart of Tbilisi. The event, supported by the Tbilisi City Hall, featured participation from the Embassies of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Türkiye, as well as various diaspora and cultural centers.
Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi, and G. Tkemaladze, the Chairman of the Tbilisi City Municipal Assembly, joined heads of the participating diplomatic missions in extending congratulations to the attendees.
A dedicated display commemorating the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality garnered significant visitor interest. The Turkmen Embassy’s pavilion, adorned in traditional national decor, showcased publications by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, alongside traditional attire, jewelry, intricately woven carpets, artwork, souvenirs, and national cuisine.
In his address, Ambassador D. Seyitmammedov of Turkmenistan emphasized Nowruz’s integral role in Turkmen cultural heritage, which embodies values of peace, neighborly relations, and patriotism. He further highlighted the event’s contribution to fostering cultural and humanitarian ties among the celebrating nations. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the event organizers and conveyed wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.
The celebration concluded with a musical concert.
