On October 20, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov familiarized himself with the progress of construction work in Afghanistan on the Serhetabat-Herat section, known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly” and forming part of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
In the Afghan province of Rabat Sanghi, at the construction site of the Serhetabat-Herat section of the gas pipeline, known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly,” the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag was warmly welcomed by members of the official delegations of our country and Afghanistan.
A solemn meeting was then held here.
Before the start of the event, prayers were offered to the Almighty for the successful implementation of this important project.
Welcoming the Hero-Arkadag and participants of the ceremony, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, who oversees the fuel and energy complex, emphasized that thanks to the constant support of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a lot of work is currently being done in our country to develop and modernize the oil and gas industry.
On behalf of the employees of the fuel and energy complex, the Deputy Prime Minister wished Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and success in their large-scale and noble activities in the interests of the people, and asked Hero Arkadag to accept a special uniform as a commemorative gift from the State Concern “Turkmengaz”.
Then the floor was given to Hero Arkadag.
Addressing the participants of the solemn meeting, Hero Arkadag emphasized that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, grandiose projects are being successfully implemented, which contribute to the expansion of friendly and good-neighborly relations.
As was emphasized, the availability of colossal reserves of hydrocarbon resources allows our country to export natural gas on a long-term basis. And here, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project, which meets the interests of the fraternal peoples of the states of the region, is of great importance.
On September 11 last year, the laying of a key section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, the Serhetabat-Herat section, known as Arkadagyň ak ýoly, began in the Mary velayat, which became one of the most significant international events.
Then Hero-Arkadag blessed the implementation of the next stage of the key section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project to the Afghan province of Herat – the gas pipeline along the Serhetabat-Herat route, called “Arkadagyň ak ýoly”.
Next, the floor was given to Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs.
At the beginning of his speech, after greeting the Hero-Arkadag and the participants of the ceremony on Afghan soil, Abdul Ghani Baradar conveyed the best wishes of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Afghanistan, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.
As noted, the TAPI project is currently being successfully implemented. Abdul Ghani Baradar, on behalf of the Afghan side, expressed gratitude to Hero Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan for their support in developing joint cooperation.
Then, a video was shown about the gas pipeline along the Serhetabat-Herat route, called “Arkadagyň ak ýoly.”
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that, as is well known, the United States of America was among the first to support the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
In this regard, Hero-Arkadag highlighted the contribution of the American company Bownstein, which is acting as a consultant on the ambitious Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project and providing valuable and useful recommendations for its implementation.
Hero-Arkadag and the participants of the ceremony then familiarized themselves with the powerful equipment purchased for the construction of the gas pipeline.
Then Hero-Arkadag proceeded to the pipe joint welding site for the Afghan province of Herat on the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline route, known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly.”
Here, the head of the Afghan branch of the closed joint-stock company “Türkmengazgurluşyk” H.Saparov reported on the work being carried out.

In a solemn atmosphere, Hero-Arkadag gave his blessing for the start of welding work. At that moment, the implementation of the next stage of the gas pipeline began.
