On March 17, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow left for China on a friendly visit at the invitation of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.
Hero Arkadag arrived at the capital’s International Airport to fly to China, where he spoke with the leaders of political parties and public organizations of our country.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that cultural and humanitarian cooperation is one of the priority areas. The fact that thousands of Turkmen students are studying in Chinese higher educational institutions testifies to the development of relations in this area. Our Hero Arkadag noted that during the visit of the Turkmen delegation led by the Vice President for Rehabilitation of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow Charitable Foundation for Supporting Children in Need of Guardianship to the People’s Republic of China in August 2025, meetings were held with the Sun Xinlin Foundation and the heads of the education sector of the friendly country, and a visit was made to the Sun Xinlin Youth Center for Scientific, Technological and Cultural Relations in China. “This visit has become an important step in developing cooperation in the field of education between our countries and combining efforts aimed at the well-being of children,” the National Leader concluded.
This friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, which is being carried out at the invitation of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, will be another important step in strengthening the Turkmen-Chinese relations, which date back to ancient times, and in developing mutually beneficial cooperation on a long-term basis.
A few hours later, the plane of National Leader landed at the “Shoudu” International Airport in Beijing, decorated with the national flags of the two countries. Soldiers of the Guard of Honor lined up along the carpeted path. Here, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was warmly welcomed by officials of the PRC and our country.
