On July 17, the Russian House in Ashgabat hosted a vibrant and educational event dedicated to International Chess Day. The intellectual game festival was held jointly with the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan and brought together young participants aged 7 and up.
Vepa Myalikgulyev, President of the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan, who noted the importance of popularizing chess among young people and supporting young talents, greeted the guests.
One of the highlights of the program was a simultaneous game session held by Mergen Kakabaev, Secretary General of the Federation, head coach of the men’s team of Turkmenistan and FIDE master.
Participants got a unique opportunity to personally compete with the master and try their hand at a professional!
The event also included: A training session “Learn to Play Chess in 30 Minutes” – a great starting point for beginners;
A master class “Chess Life Hacks” – useful tips, tricks and strategies from an experienced coach;
Tips on developing thinking, tactics and confidence at the chessboard.
All participants took away not only pleasant impressions, but also new knowledge, inspiration and a desire to develop in the world of chess!
