Event titled “Children of the Commonwealth”, which was held in the Minsk region of the Republic of Belarus from July 7 to 16, under the auspices of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States. More than 80 children attended this international forum, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, from 8 countries, as reported by education.gov.tm.
Honchagul Tashliyeva, a teacher from secondary school No. 19 of Ak Bugday district of Ahal region, headed the children’s group from our country participating in the international forum.
The anniversary forum held in the hospitable land of Belarus went down in history as a significant event in establishing friendly relations among children, developing feelings of friendship, brotherhood, and mutual trust. This event focused to educating the younger generation in the spirit of peace, creating a broad understanding of the national and cultural heritage of different nations in children, ensuring a sustainable future, and enriching children’s knowledge with effective information.
Children visited museums, national tourist parks, ethnocultural and “Khatyn” memorial complexes, the national library, and the Museum of the National Council of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the forum program. They also actively participated in cultural and educational events held within the framework of the Days of the States-Participants of the International Forum, tutoring sessions with the participation of famous actors and artists of the Republic of Belarus, sports competitions, interactive events, intellectual games, and ecological competitions.
During the event a cultural and educational event dedicated to the Day of Turkmenistan was held at the “Zubryonok” National Children’s Educational and Recreation Center, the venue of the international forum, with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev.
The exhibition of children’s national crafts and drawings, which was organized at the event site, aroused great interest among the forum participants. The skillful performance of national crafts and handicrafts, which have been passed down from generation to generation from our ancestors and grandparents, by schoolchildren representing our country, was especially impressive for the forum participants. Children participating in the forum from other countries were given interesting information about our national crafts and handicrafts, and were offered sweets made in our country, following our national traditions.
The musical performances and inspiring dances performed by children participating in the forum from our country were warmly welcomed, and the international forum provided an opportunity for children participating in other countries to get to know our rich national heritage.
The cultural and educational event on the occasion of Turkmenistan Day ended with the joint performance of the song “Turkmenistan – the land of friendship and brotherhood”, which glorifies our Motherland, which is known worldwide as a model place of peace, trust, and friendly relations.
