On August 17, a robot boat race was held for young people at Secondary School No. 13 in Ashgabat, a school specializing in foreign languages. The competition, organized jointly by the Ashgabat Main Education Department of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the private enterprise “Dovrebap Maslahat,” attracted young people from all over the country.
The competition was held in two parts: navigating boats through a pool with obstacles as quickly as possible and collecting balls from the surface of the water and depositing them in a designated area.

In the individual swimming and obstacle course competition, Yasin Rakhmanov, a student from Specialized Secondary School No. 87 in Ashgabat (which focuses on English) and a student at the Turkmen-Indian Center for Information Technologies, took first place. Orazmuhammet Merdanov and Said Annayev, both students from Secondary School No. 86 in Ashgabat (specializing in English, Chemistry, and Biology), took second and third places, respectively.
In the team competition to collect balls from the water, the team of Arslankhan Toyjanov (a student at the Turkmen-Indian Center for Information Technologies), Sergey Apresyan (a student from Secondary School No. 15 in Ashgabat), and Alikhan Akgayev (a student from the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian School in Ashgabat) won first place.
The team of Eldar Khajilyev (from the “Kamil bilim” education center in Balkanabat), Tanryberdy Gurbanov (a student from Specialized Secondary School No. 21 in Balkanabat, which specializes in natural sciences), and Hajily Khajilyev (a student from Specialized Secondary School No. 22 in Balkanabat, which specializes in English, physics, and mathematics) won second place.
Third place was won by students from the Turkmen-Indian Center for Information Technologies: Ayhan Karyagdyev (a student from School No. 18 in Ashgabat), Yhlas Nurmuhammedov (a student from Secondary School No. 86 in Ashgabat, which specializes in English, chemistry, and biology), and Yusup Geldyev (a student from Specialized Secondary School No. 135 in Ashgabat).
“This competition is aimed at identifying talented young people interested in robotic technologies,” said the chief judge, Ismayil Hakimov. “In one of the competitions, speed and accuracy is important. Here, students not only competed but also showed that they had improved their skills during the summer holidays and exchanged experiences with their peers.”
