On 25 September, a cultural event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence took place in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana, at the monument to the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Akimat of Astana.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, the Akimat of Astana, as well as Turkmen students studying at universities in Kazakhstan.
In his welcoming speech, B.Rejepov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasized the importance of the friendship and cooperation between the two brotherly nations, which are based on historical, cultural, and spiritual ties.
As part of the event, participants laid flowers at the monument to Magtymguly, a symbol of the cultural heritage and spiritual unity of the Turkmen people. Turkmen students studying at universities in Kazakhstan read Magtymguly Fragi’s poems in the original and in translation.
It should be noted that the cultural event in honor of the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence of Turkmenistan was taken up by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Almaty and the Consulate in Aktau.
Vibrant performances of the Turkmen youth’s national dance, “kushtdepdi,” took place in the most beautiful and iconic locations of Almaty and Aktau.
Filled with ancient rhythms and distinctive choreography, the dance showcased the richness of Turkmenistan’s folk traditions and was highly appreciated by the audience. During the International Year of Peace and Trust, Turkmen youth expressed a unifying sense of cultural pride through their performances and conveyed a powerful message of peace and trust.
