On the margins of the 65th Session of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission, the Turkmen delegation, led by the Director of the Institute of Seismology and Physics of the Atmosphere of Turkmenistan Guljemal Charyyeva, held a meeting with CTBTO Executive Secretary Dr. Robert Floyd.
The sides reviewed the current status of the Primary Seismic Station PS44 in Turkmenistan and discussed continued cooperation to ensure its effective operation within the International Monitoring System.
The sides also considered plans to organize a regional training course for National Data Centres (NDCs) in Turkmenistan in 2026, aimed at strengthening technical capacity and regional cooperation under the CTBT framework.
The meeting additionally addressed prospects for joint events marking the 30th anniversary of the CTBT, reaffirming Turkmenistan’s commitment to promoting the global nuclear test-ban regime.
Furthermore, the delegation held meetings with the Heads of the IDC Capacity Building and Training Section and the Operations Section, during which practical steps to further enhance technical collaboration were discussed.
