On 27th March, a meeting took place in Ashgabat between Rashid Meredov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, who was in the country to participate in the ministerial meeting within the Central Asia-European Union format.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that a key factor in strengthening the interstate dialogue is the trusting relationship established between the leaders of both countries, as well as the outcomes of their regular high-level meetings and negotiations.
The Foreign Ministers underscored their commitment to further expanding and strengthening trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the two nations.
The discussion also addressed current regional and global issues of mutual interest. In this context, the parties discussed preparations for the inaugural European Union-Central Asia summit, scheduled to be held in Samarkand in the coming days.
At the end of the meeting, the ministers expressed confidence that Turkmen-Tajik relations, rooted in the principles of centuries-old friendship and the shared spiritual, historical, and cultural heritage of the fraternal peoples, would continue to develop successfully.
