Disney Studios continues to show the power of the theatrical window as the Burbank, CA lot is officially crossing the 6 billion dollars worldwide threshold today.
Broken out that is 2.3B dollars domestic, the best for any major motion picture studio stateside YTD, and 3.65B dollars in international B.O.
We told you this was coming, but with the 450M+ dollars and counting global success of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, it happened a few days sooner.
Disney is the first and only studio to cross 6B dollars this year, the next best major is Warner Bros with 4.3B dollars. 2025 repped Disney’s biggest year at the B.O. since 2019 when it hit an all-time 13.1B dollars (11.1B dollars from Disney titles alone, the rest being 20th Century Studios and Searchlight). That was the first and only time a major motion picture studio crossed 10B dollars at the worldwide B.O. Note, Warner Bros, crossed 4B dollars first this year before any other motion picture studio.
