The Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan is hosting an ethnographic photo exhibition, “Through the Centuries: Kazakh Culture in Photographs”.

The exhibition features rare archival photographs from the collections of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The exhibition introduces visitors to the traditional way of life, clothing, crafts, and everyday life of nomads. The central feature of the exhibition is a traditional dwelling, the yurt (kiіz үy), along with unique photographs depicting the art of hunting with falcons and family traditions. Modern artificial intelligence technologies were used to restore time-damaged photographs during the exhibition’s preparation.

The exhibition will run until October 28, and has become a significant event strengthening the bonds of friendship between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
