On 28 Au­gust 2026, a mee­ting to­ok place at the MFA of Turk­me­nis­tan bet­we­en the Mi­nis­ter of Fo­reign Af­fairs of Turk­me­nis­tan Ras­hid Me­re­dov and the Am­bas­sa­dor of the Eu­ro­pe­an Union to Turk­me­nis­tan Bea­ta Pęksa, who is conclu­ding her dip­lo­ma­tic mis­si­on in the count­ry.
Du­ring the mee­ting, the par­ti­es high­ly app­rai­sed the cur­rent level of coo­pe­ra­ti­on bet­we­en Turk­me­nis­tan and the Eu­ro­pe­an Union, which encom­pas­ses the po­li­tical, econo­mic, trans­port and ener­gy, as well as cul­tu­ral and hu­ma­ni­ta­ri­an sphe­res.
The ef­fectiveness of joint pro­jects and prog­ram­mes was no­ted, inclu­ding in the areas of the ru­le of law, hu­man rights, environ­ment, di­gi­ta­li­sa­ti­on, trans­port and the private sector.
In ad­di­ti­on to bi­la­te­ral part­ners­hip mecha­nisms, the par­ti­es emp­ha­si­zed the im­por­tance of coo­pe­ra­ti­on wit­hin the “EU – Cent­ral Asia” fra­me­work.
At the mee­ting, gra­ti­tu­de was expres­sed to Am­bas­sa­dor Bea­ta Pęksa for her sig­ni­ficant cont­ri­bu­ti­on to the develop­ment of friend­ly re­la­tions bet­we­en Turk­me­nis­tan and the Eu­ro­pe­an Union.
