The British Embassy in Turkmenistan has announced the opening of the application window for the prestigious 2027–2028 Chevening Scholarships. Ambitious professionals, researchers, and future leaders from Turkmenistan are invited to apply for the opportunity to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom.
Funded by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Chevening offers a life-changing opportunity to undertake a one-year master’s degree at any top-tier UK university. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial coverage, fully encompassing tuition fees, a monthly living stipend, return economy travel from Turkmenistan to the UK, and additional essential allowances.
Applications already opened on August 4, and will continue till October 6, at 16:00 with Ashgabat time.
Eligibility Requirements for Turkmen Applicants: Chevening welcomes applications from all fields, looking for individuals who possess a strong academic background, a clear vision for the future, and demonstrable leadership potential to contribute to the development of Turkmenistan. To be eligible, elected official must:
- Be a citizen of Turkmenistan.
- Return to Turkmenistan for a minimum of two years after the scholarship ends.
- Hold an undergraduate degree that enables entry into a UK postgraduate programme.
- Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of professional work, internship, or volunteer experience.
Upon completion of their studies, successful scholars will return home to join an influential network of Turkmen Chevening alumni, contributing to bilateral ties and driving positive, sustainable change in their respective sectors.
