The Awaza National Tourist Zone is preparing to become the center of large-scale diplomatic events. In early October, it will host a series of key international forums bringing together regional leaders. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed his intention to personally lead the Kazakh delegation during a telephone conversation on August 25 with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty.
The interlocutors emphasized the exceptional importance of the planned negotiations, including a consultative meeting of the leaders of Central Asian countries with the participation of Azerbaijan, a summit of CIS leaders, and a specialized Caspian Environmental Forum.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev separately expressed gratitude for Turkmenistan’s accession to the fundamental Treaty of Friendship and Good-Neighborliness, aimed at promoting the region’s prosperity in the 21st century.
In turn, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty thanked the Kazakh side for its continued support of foreign policy initiatives and expressed confidence that the upcoming visit would provide a powerful impetus to the interstate partnership.
