Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree appointing Olzhas Bektenov as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh leader’s press service reported.
“By decree of the head of state, Olzhas Abayevich Bektenov has been appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the statement reads.
Bektenov served as prime minister since February 2024, having previously headed the presidential administration. Following the election of a new unicameral parliament, the cabinet resigned.
