A group of ten faculty members from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas successfully completed a professional development program in the People’s Republic of China, as reported by the turkmenistan.gov.tm.
From June 28 to July 7 of this year, Turkmen specialists learned from their colleagues at Xi’an Petroleum University and Hebei Petroleum Vocational University in Xi’an and Chengde. The training course focused on modern approaches to geology, field exploration, and the implementation of information systems and digital technologies in the oil and gas industry.
During the ten-day program, representatives of the national higher education system were introduced to innovative teaching methods and cutting-edge scientific developments, and visited research laboratories, specialized museums, and the high-tech enterprise LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. This trip marked another practical step in implementing the five-party Memorandum of Understanding, signed in October 2024, aimed at developing a long-term scientific and educational partnership between Turkmenistan and China.
The opening of the Lu Ban Workshop at the MUNG on April 16, 2026, served as a key impetus for organizing the internship. The integration of experience gained in China and the use of the new center’s advanced equipment will significantly improve the quality of engineering training for the domestic fuel and energy sector. The workshop’s activities are designed to expand academic mobility, intensify joint research projects, and strengthen bilateral ties in high technology.
