In Ashgabat celebrated 250th anniversary of US Independence

On June 2, a reception was organized in Ashgabat in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States of America. The ceremony, held at the “Yıldız” Hotel, was attended by the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country, Elizabeth Rudd, who received the guests in a special area decorated with the flags of the two countries.

At the entrance to the hotel, there were placed guides on the history of US independence, as well as books published in Turkmen and English.
This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America. The celebrations dedicated to this remarkable date began a year ago. On July 4, 1776, the United States gained its independence.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, represented the Government of Turkmenistan. Heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in our country, representatives of the media, and other guests also attended the ceremony.
During the event, the Marine Corps Section of the US Embassy solemnly presented the flags.
Speaking in Turkmen, US Ambassador Elizabeth Rudd said that she highly valued relations with Turkmenistan. The diplomat emphasized the active development of relations with Turkmenistan in all areas, in particular, in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The ambassador noted that it was a great pleasure for him to represent the United States of America in Turkmenistan and said that extensive efforts would be made to further develop bilateral relations.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, in turn, congratulated the United States of America on the national holiday on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The Vice Prime Minister also expressed great satisfaction with the Turkmen-American cooperation in all areas and noted that cooperation is developing rapidly.
Noting that many American companies are operating effectively in Turkmenistan, the Foreign Minister noted that scientific, educational and cultural cooperation is of particular importance. Rashid Meredov also emphasized that Turkmenistan actively participates in more than 15 US educational programs.


After the official speeches, the guests were welcomed and the Ashga-Brass group performed live music.
