A creative group of Turkmen journalists is currently on a working visit to the United States. The visit, which began on May 9, will last until the end of the month. The Turkmen delegation to the IVLP program includes representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, and the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan.
The Mississippi Consortium organized the visit for International Development with the assistance of the US State Department. During the journalists’ visit to the US, a specially designed program will be held on the topic of artificial intelligence and technologies in journalism.
Turkmen journalists will get acquainted with the main strategies and tools used by American colleagues in the implementation of artificial intelligence in journalism, as well as the impact of technologies based on artificial intelligence. In addition, they will study the potential of artificial intelligence and technologies in solving problems in the media sector.
The first days of the delegation’s visit to Washington, D.C., were devoted to familiarizing themselves with the federal systems that govern the processes that shape artificial intelligence, its technological development, and its impact on journalism. During the upcoming visits to St. Louis (Missouri), Cincinnati (Ohio), and New Orleans (Louisiana), the Turkmen delegates will also be able to discuss interesting topics and conversations related to the practical application of artificial intelligence in journalism.
