On 27 Au­gust 2026,Mi­nis­ter of Fo­reign Af­fairs of Turk­me­nis­tan Ras­hid Me­re­dov met with the Am­bas­sa­dor Extraor­di­na­ry and Ple­ni­po­ten­tia­ry of the Fe­de­ral Re­pub­lic of Ger­ma­ny to Turk­me­nis­tan Pet­ra Dachtler. The Am­bas­sa­dor pre­sen­ted copies of her cre­den­tials to the Turk­men si­de.
The Mi­nis­ter of Fo­reign Af­fairs cong­ra­tu­la­ted the Am­bas­sa­dor on her ap­point­ment to this high post and wis­hed her success in car­rying out her dip­lo­ma­tic mis­si­on in Turk­me­nis­tan.
Du­ring the mee­ting, the par­ti­es discus­sed key as­pects of Turk­men-Ger­man re­la­tions in the po­li­tical-dip­lo­ma­tic, tra­de-econo­mic and cul­tu­ral-hu­ma­ni­ta­ri­an sphe­res.
It was par­ticular­ly no­ted that high-level con­tacts provide the ma­in im­pe­tus for the develop­ment of in­ter-sta­te re­la­tions.
The ef­fectiveness of the part­ners­hip bet­we­en the two count­ri­es wit­hin the fra­me­work of the UN and the EU, as well as in the Cent­ral Asia–Ger­ma­ny for­mat was high­ligh­ted at the mee­ting.
The dip­lo­mats no­ted the fruit­ful­ness of the long-stan­ding tra­de and econo­mic ti­es. In this con­text, the active ro­le of the Eas­tern Com­mit­tee of the Ger­man Econo­my was high­ligh­ted.
The par­ti­es al­so discus­sed is­su­es re­la­ting to the develop­ment of coo­pe­ra­ti­on in the fields of cul­tu­re, healthcare and education.
