Over 40,000 international students are studying in Kyrgyzstan. Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation Durusbek Kozuev informs.
According to him, the number of international students studying in Kyrgyzstan has recently increased. Therefore, a special center and a unified portal have been created to systematize student admissions, simplify the application process, and promote information about the country’s universities internationally.
“A special information portal, EDUGATE, has been launched for international applicants. It allows candidates to obtain all the necessary information for admission, and subsequently, comprehensive support. The center also provides assistance with visa issues, finding dormitories, and improving living conditions,” he said.
The deputy minister noted that the majority of international students studying in Kyrgyzstan are Indian citizens, with over 18000 currently enrolled. The next largest number are students from Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. In total, citizens of more than 50 countries are studying in Kyrgyzstan.
