On May 21, 2026, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in the regional conference entitled «Advancing issues related to gender equality and women’s rights and empowerment in Central Asia» in the city of Bishkek of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The goal of the conference was to strengthen peaceful relations between the countries of the region, strengthen mutual trust and cooperation, enhance the role of women in society and develop their leadership skills, promote their contribution to governance, social, economic and cultural development.
In accordance with the plan, at the regional conference entitled «Advancing issues related to gender equality and women’s rights and empowerment in Central Asia» were presented speeches regarding the programmatic work being carried out to increase the effectiveness of activities to ensure gender equality in the Central Asian region, expand the rights and opportunities of all women and girls, successfully implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in this area.
