On June 9-10, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the French Republic and the Portuguese Republic, M. Charyev, took part in state events held on the island of Terceira (Azores) on the occasion of Portugal Day, Camoes Day and Portuguese Communities Day.
As part of the official program, the head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission attended the reception ceremony of representatives of the diplomatic corps by the President of the Portuguese Republic, military ceremonies with the participation of the Portuguese Armed Forces, as well as other events organized on the occasion of the national holiday.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, together with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Portuguese Republic, congratulated the President of the Portuguese Republic, António José Seguro, and conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, as well as best wishes for peace, prosperity and well-being to the friendly people of Portugal.
Within the framework of the festive events, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan held meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps and officials of the Portuguese Republic. During the meetings, views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest and opportunities for further development of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation in these events was another demonstration of the continuous development of Turkmen-Portuguese friendly relations and mutual interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation.
