The French Institute in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan, announces the resumption of the chess club and the start of the new 2026-2027 season. This joint project aims to make chess accessible, understandable, and engaging for the widest possible audience of chess enthusiasts.

Starting October 31st, the club will open every Saturday at 6:30 PM at the French Institute. Guests can look forward to friendly games, the opportunity to exchange experiences with players of varying skill levels, and themed training sessions to help hone their skills and master fresh tactical techniques. The organizers create a warm and supportive atmosphere where everyone is welcome – from seasoned amateurs to those just taking their first steps on the chessboard. Experienced mentors are happy to help beginners master the rules and gain confidence.

Knowledge of French is a nice bonus, but is not required to attend meetings. Participation in the chess club is completely free.

The Institute is located at the following address: Ashgabat, Aga Garryev Street, Building 69.
