The Altyn Minbar International Film Festival has opened in Kazan, bringing together renowned filmmakers, experts, and film enthusiasts from around the world. The opening ceremony of this significant cultural event took place on the stage of the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theater, according to the country’s International Information Center.
Festival Chairman Ravil Gainutdin and Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova addressed the audience with warm words of encouragement, including an official congratulatory message from Olga Lyubimova, head of the Russian Ministry of Culture. The festive evening continued with a vibrant concert program featuring theatrical and musical performances.
Turkmen filmmakers have long been traditional and welcome guests at this prestigious forum. This year, the country’s delegation was led by Sahysalyh Bayramov, director of the Oguz Khan Turkmenfilm Association. At the festival, he represents national cinema and shares his experience with his international colleagues.
As part of the screenings, the Turkmen side presented the feature film “Composer” to the public. Created by Turkmenfilm specialists with the support of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, the film deeply touched audiences and received high praise from the expert community.
The current film festival boasts a rich and comprehensive program. Fifty-four films competed for the main awards, while another 92 works were presented to audiences in non-competition sections. The participation of a Turkmen film in such a large-scale project once again underscores the dynamic development of national cinema and its successful integration with global culture.
